Home services

This information is for home services. This includes home care services, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services and flexible care services through which short-term restorative care is provided in a home care setting.

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) conducts quality reviews of home services to assess whether a home service provider delivers services in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards (Quality Standards). Home services provide support to help people stay at home and be more independent with their day-to-day activities and in the community.

The Commission recognises there are many types of providers working in a wide range of care and service settings, ranging from relatively small or niche to very complex. As a result, some Standards or specific requirements may not apply to all Home service providers. The Commission has created the Guide to Assessment of CHSP Services, to provide an indication of the Standards that apply to Commonwealth Home Support Programme services delivering particular types of care and services.
